April 30-May 6

Andrew did well today. He ate a lot at night, we don't know what that means yet. When home health came for Cassie, they weighed Andrew and he was 5 lbs, 4 oz. He had a small episode of bradycardia (slow heart rate) that his monitor picked up. However, it was while he was just beginning to eat and he was really hungry so we think he was concentrating on the food and not on breathing. We are not quite sure what he thinks of his sister yet. He has been banished to the swing a few times as we could not hold him the whole time. He probably realizes that we are not holding him as much.

Cassie also had a small episode of bradycardia while she was beginning to eat. She was seen by home health and weighed in at 5 lbs, 6 oz; about what she was when she was discharged yesterday. She is very sweet. She definitely has Dane's strawberry blonde hair.

Elena is doing well. They moved her into a bassinet last night so that she would be more cozy. Her feedings will probably be advanced to two out of three tomorrow and then when she can do that well it will be full. When she can show that she is stable on full feedings and is gaining weight, she can come home.

Well, we have not done too many updates lately, as you can tell. We have been extremely busy with Andrew and Cassie at home. It is quite overwhelming! Because of the time that it took and how difficult it was to go and see Elena, Lorena asked the doctor on Wednesday if we could bring Elena home on a feeding tube so that we could have them all together. He said that he would be willing to do that. However, later that afternoon the occupational therapist worked with Elena and said that she was a great eater, we just needed to let her do it on her own time. So, it was decided that Elena could come home on Saturday, without a feeding tube. We were so excited! Lorena went by herself to pick her up and we took many pictures of the threesome once they got home. It has been a hard day, but we hope after some adjustments we can get used to it.

We wish to thank all of those that have offered countless prayers on the behalf of our children. If you have room, please continue to do so as we can use all of the blessings we can get! As you can probably tell, we will not be updating the site as often. One reason is that there is not too much to tell about now that they are home and the other reason is that we just don't have the time to.

Please feel free to email or call us to check on their status. Don't be alarmed if we don't answer either one too quickly...we have definitely got our hands full!

Their weights are currently:

Andrew: 5 lbs, 8 oz.

Cassie: 5 lbs, 12 oz.

Elena: 6 lbs, 0 oz.
